New Business Frenzy
Jack O’Neill’s pub at 130 Franklin Street is finally open for business…
and the interior is every bit as nice as the exterior!
They have a patio in the back too. Very nice!
The Parish Diner at 218 Richardson Street is open for business as well…
as is the North Henry Eatery one block away on Meeker.
I haven’t tried either of these yet, but I am looking forward to the experience. Anyone who lives in this part of Greenpoint will probably agree with me when I say that this area has been under-served on the restaurant front for way too long.
Permanent Records (at 181 Franklin Street) is slated to open this week too!
And last— but hardly least— my homegirl over at 11222 has brought a new vegetarian restaurant to my attention: The William Taft Vegetarian Diner.
Way cool!

Everything I’ve heard about Jack O’Neill’s has been lukewarm. Main reason being that it lacks the usual grunge of the surrounding bars. I’ll have to visit at some point to see for myself.
There’s also talk of a super-megaplex 2-story sports bar going in across from Coco and Paloma. Sounds like a true gem.
Parish diner has good burgers, however they also have $5 -buds(cheapest beer) the rest are $6 or more. A little pricey for our area if you ask me, but I guess the crowd they are going after is going to move in the large condos being built next door. As far as the North Henery Eatry goes, it has good breakfast sandwiches, when they are open. The only time I go there is on the weekend, but they are never open on Sundays and last Saturday I tried to go there and they were not open then either!! Bad business practices for a new busniess if you ask me. Thats my 2 cents
The William Taft diner opened today (June 5th). The food is pretty cheap and best of all they’re open everyday until Midnight.
